Beth's Ponderings

September 11th I lost my landline and internet connection until September 16th.

I was really thankful I have numerous offline hobbies - doing physical jigsaw puzzles, reading physical books, baking from recipes on actual recipe cards, crochet and rug hooking, gardening, visiting in person, etc, so I wasn’t lost for something to do while I was disconnected.

But it also showed how much of our lives are online now. I couldn’t even look up the Telus phone number or submit an outage report to Telus because I had no internet access. There was a LOT I could not do that did need done during those days because I had no internet access.

As our world becomes more online, we need to keep as much as we can offline so we can still function in a power or internet outage.
