Beth's Ponderings

When I was young, my parents would often take us for a drive exploring gravel roads we’d never travelled on before.

At each intersection we were faced with the choice of turning left or right, or continuing straight ahead, knowing full well (after we made our choice) we may never make it back to explore the other two options.

We saw some great scenery, and often ended up in places we never expected as we followed the odd barely-there trail through field or trees.

In the 2 - 3 years before I had my health collapse, Mom and I also ventured out to explore gravel roads on many a weekend.

This June, on a couple of occasions, I managed to end up on unknown gravel roads and was amazed I’d never driven them before as I’ve lived in this area for 40+ years!

I saw new sights, but all the rain we’ve received made for some very muddy roads with deep puddles and I was worried I might get stuck in spots!
