Beth's Ponderings
As this has been a
bit of an up-and-down year for me health-wise, I was thrilled when I finally
finished planting my garden.
This year, I
experimented with some different varieties of vegetables, and did more
companion planting than I have in the past.
Fingers crossed for
rain, and that it all grows and thrives!
This year was the 20th
anniversary of my Dad’s passing, and it’s hard to believe that it’s been that
long, and even harder to believe he’d have been almost 100 years old if he was
still alive.
It’s a bit
bittersweet that he isn’t around to see my garden labyrinth, and share in its
continued evolution.
While he probably
would have been a bit (a lot?) sceptical of the whole idea at first, by now he’d
have been right on board with it, and I’m sure would have had countless ideas
and tips for how to make it even better than it is now.
There have been a
lot of milestones and accomplishments I’ve had in the past 20 years, and
especially last year, that he also missed, yet I know he is with me (and my
sister) in spirit, and continues to cheer us on.
Though, some days I
wish he was still around in person to lend a helping hand or two!
Happy Father’s Day to all the father figures!
Beth
